Rhapsody (October 5, 2008) A program of great works in this freer, more imaginative musical form – Featuring Dvorak’s exciting Scherzo Capriccioso, Vaughan Williams’ beautiful Norfolk Rhapsody; Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice (best know from the film Fantasia), Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini (re-popularized in the film Somewhere in Time) with pianist Adam Neiman and Tchaikovsky’s dynamic Capriccio Italien.

Great Romantics (November 9, 2008) Experience of the vivid colors and emotions of Verdi’s dramatic Overture to La Forza del Destino (The Force of Destiny), Brahms’ great Symphony No. 2, Chausson’s meditative Poeme and Saint-Saëns lively Introduction and Rondo Capriccios, with acclaimed violinist Asmira Woodward-Page .

Pictures at an Exhibition (January 25, 2009) Mussorgsky’s famous masterpiece Pictures at an Exhibition serves as the focal point for a program of music inspired by visual imagery, including Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks Overture, Debussy’s ethereal Nocturnes, and songs from Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Rückert Lieder - brought to life by world-renowned baritone Tom Fox.

The World of the Dance (March 8, 2009) Highlighting the fundamental  relationship between music and dance, featuring the world of ballet, Baroque dance, Eastern European folk dance, ballroom, shag and more, all with leading dance companies. Don’t miss this extravaganza - a symphonic “Dancing with the Stars!”

Concerts are Sundays at 4 p.m. at the MBHS Music & Arts Center
