SUMMARY:From Gullah to Gospel

Olive AME Church\, Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach. Advanced ticket reservations are required for this sell out event (this concert is pay-what-you-wish with a suggested donation of $25). Doors open at 4:00PM and concert starts at 5:00PM. \nJoin us early for a special Learning Session: \nYou won’t want to miss this opportunity for a special presentation on March 22nd about the Gullah language and life style. Presented by area specialist\, Susan McMillan\, this learning session will tell the story of plantation life for the African slaves and will include a display of artifacts from five archaeology excavations at plantations in Horry & Georgetown counties. \nLanguage lessons by Dr.Veronica Gerald will also be featured in this limited seating presentation at the First Presbyterian Church on Robert Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach. Doors open at 2:30PM for the learning session from 3:00 to 4:00PM. Reservations for this session can be made at the same time concert tickets are reserved. Please call the LBS office at 843-448-8379. \nThis project made possible in part by a grant from the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. This project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
