SUMMARY:Long Bay Youth Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Long Bay Youth Symphony\, under the direction of Dr. Charles Jones Evans\, presents its Spring Concert on Wednesday\, April 30th at 7:30 in the MBHS Music & Arts Center Auditorium. The program will feature the winners of the annual LBYS Concerto Competition: pianist Jeff Gao\, performing Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto (1st Movement)\, and bassist Andrew Henderson\, performing the Bass Concerto No. 2  by Austrian Carl Dittersdorf. \nThe LBYS continues the international theme with a variety of symphonic pieces\, including Finlandia by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius; Two Dances from the Czech nationalist opera The Bartered Bride by Bedrich Smetana; and highlights from the hit musical/movie Wicked by Stephen Schwartz . \nIn addition\, select smaller chamber music ensembles from within the orchestra will be highlighted. \nTickets are $10 for admission; free for students!
