Be part of The Long Bay Symphony community by becoming more than just an audience member. By volunteering with Long Bay Symphony you'll be helping grow the arts in the Coastal Carolinas. As a small nonprofit, our volunteers help keep the symphony running smoothly so that patrons enjoy a seamless concert experience. Learn about our many volunteer opportunities below.
Assist LBS Patrons to their seats during LBS concerts. This volunteer opportunity requires the ability to go up and down stairs to get to the mezzanine and stand for extended periods of time. Volunteers arrive to the auditorium at 2:30pm on concert day and stay until the last patron has left the building (approximately 6pm).
Sell water, cookies and other concessions during intermission at LBS concerts.
In the past, LBS volunteers have put on 3 fundraisers per year raising funds for LBS in addition to replenishing 3 scholarship accounts for our Youth Programs. Duties in event planning include, but are not limited to, scheduling, finding sponsors, compiling baskets for silent auction, creating table center pieces, selling event tickets, and volunteering at actual event. Examples of past fundraisers: Fashion Show, Golf Tournament, a formal Tea, and Gala.
The LBS office is always looking for dedicated volunteers to help with small projects like filing, preparing mailings, preparing tickets/orders. Volunteers can come in on a regular schedule or choose to volunteer for special projects in the office.
