We believe that the key to growing the community’s love for the arts and music starts with the youth and the important influence of today’s teachers. That's why we created
The Long Bay Symphony Music Teacher of the Year program to recognize excellence in music education in the Grand Strand. Each year, one teacher is chosen from each education level: elementary school, middle school, and high school to receive recognition and a gift basket from Long Bay Symphony and our partners.

Each year, based on nominations received, teachers are chosen from each education level (elementary, middle, and high school) to receive recognition and a gift basket from Long Bay Symphony and its partners. Anyone (students, staff members, community members, etc.) can submit a nomination!

We are excited to announce our partnership with the Carolina Master Chorale (CMC) for this year’s Music Teacher of the Year, which will expand the awards to include choral teachers from each grade level in addition to band and orchestra teachers (five winners total). More than ever, the LBS and CMC are excited to reward the hard work and perseverance that our music teachers have carried out in their classrooms this past school year.

Nominations are open from now until March 31st.
Winners will be announced during intermission at The Planets on April 16th. All nominees and their principals will be invited to attend the concert free of charge
