The Long Bay Youth Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Charles Jones Evans, presents its Fall Concert on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:30 in the Myrtle Beach High School Music & Arts Center Auditorium. The program will highlight selections from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as the 20th-Century: Handel’s Water Music, Symphony No. 30 by Mozart, Variations for Clarinet and Orchestra by Rossini (featuring Long Bay Symphony clarinetist Michael Knight as guest soloist) and three short pieces by American composer Aaron Copland, including a musical portrait of John Henry, “Saturday Night Waltz” from the ballet Rodeo and “Celebration Dance” from the ballet Billy the Kid. In addition to these orchestral pieces, select LBYS chamber ensembles will be featured.
