Originally composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel, this performance made its premiere in 1742 in Dublin, Ireland. While it was originally intended to be an Easter classic, it has since become a cherished Christmas staple across the globe. Following the narrative of Jesus Christ, Messiah builds the story of Jesus’s life, from his birth to his crucifixion and ultimate resurrection.
